SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Dancers Mikhail Baryshnikov and Ana Laguna are to kick off their U.S. tour with a performance at California's Eli and Edythe Broad Stage, organizers said.

Baryshnikov and Laguna are to open the Santa Monica theater's second season Friday and perform again Saturday.

They are to dance a program called "Three Solos and a Duet," featuring a trio of U.S. premieres choreographed by Mats Ek, Alexei Ratmansky and Benjamin Millepied.

Slated to attend Friday's event are playwright David Mamet and actress Gena Rowlands, the theater said.
