CALGARY, Alberta, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- The father of reality show actor Ryan Alexander Jenkins says his son did not kill his ex-wife, swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore.
Canadian architect Dan Jenkins said in a statement his son, who appeared on the reality TV series "Megan Wants a Millionaire," did not kill Fiore, whose mutilated body was found inside a suitcase near Los Angeles on Aug. 15, the Canwest News Service said Saturday.
"I understand that the police department is making progress in the case and once I am in better shape I intend to offer a reward for the capture of her killer," Dan Jenkins said.
Susan Kang Schroeder, a spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney's office, said authorities still suspect the younger Jenkins was responsible for the killing.
"We feel comfortable that all evidence points to Jenkins," Schroeder said of the homicide suspect, who was found dead in a British Columbia motel last Sunday.
Ryan Jenkins, 32, was being sought by authorities in both the United States and Canada when he apparently committed suicide, Canwest reported.
