WASHINGTON, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- A wax figure of Hugh Jackman as the comic book/movie hero Wolverine had its razor-sharp claws manicured at a Washington spa Thursday, Madame Tussauds said.

The figure was seen having its 12-inch-long blades sharpened at The Grooming Lounge D.C. spa as part of a campaign promoting its appearance at Madame Tussauds Washington D.C. It will be on display through Sunday.

The sculpture's stop at the attraction is part of a partnership between Madame Tussauds and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment in celebration of the upcoming release of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" on Blu-ray Disc and Special Edition DVD Sept. 15.

Following its stay at Madame Tussauds Washington D.C., the figure will travel to Madame Tussauds New York in Times Square.
