Gosselin to sub for 'View's' Hasselbeck

NEW YORK, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- U.S. reality TV star Kate Gosselin is to fill in for Elisabeth Hasselbeck on "The View," while the regular co-host is on maternity leave.

Hasselbeck recently gave birth to her third child.

Gosselin, an author and cast member of TV's "Jon & Kate Plus Eight," has been in the spotlight lately thanks to her separation from her husband and Jon's high-profile dating.

People.com said Kate Gosselin will serve as guest host on "The View" Sept. 14 and 15. Also slated to cover for Hasselbeck are Meghan McCain, the daughter of Sen. John McCain, Sept. 9 and 10; singer LaToya Jackson Sept. 16 and 18; and FOX News Channel anchor E.D. Hill Sept. 23 and 24.

The 13th season premiere of "The View" is scheduled to air Sept. 8.

Hasselbeck is expected to return to the show in October, People.com said.
