LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Summit Entertainment is describing as inaccurate a "Twilight" troupe member's announcement that there will be five films in the Hollywood franchise.

The vampire movies are based on Stephenie Meyers' series of four novels.

"Twilight," the first flick, was a blockbuster when it opened last year. Its sequel "New Moon," is slated for release this fall.

Boo Boo Stewart, an actor signed to appear in the third film, "Eclipse," said there will ultimately be five installments in the "Twilight" movie saga -- two more than Summit previously confirmed.

"I heard there's going to be three more movies," Stewart told "Access Hollywood." "'Eclipse,' 'Breaking Dawn' and there should be one more."

However, Usmagazine.com said a representative of Summit, the franchise's producers, contradicted the cast member.

"We appreciate our young actor's enthusiasm for the franchise and his role, but his comments about the number of films were unfortunately uninformed and not accurate," the representative said. "However, the fans should rest assured the we're working with Stephenie Meyer to bring 'Breaking Dawn' to the big screen."
