FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- A Texas blogger being sued by the mother of Anna Nicole Smith faces a contempt of court hearing for failing to surrender a computer, prosecutors said.
Teresa Stephens of Fort Worth was arrested Thursday in advance of a Monday hearing in Harris County District Court, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Stephens, who blogged under the name Butterfly at a site called Rose Speaks, is being sued for defamation by Virgie Arthur, the mother of Smith, who died Feb. 8, 2007 from an overdose of prescription drugs, the Chronicle reported Sunday.
Stephens was arrested for failing to surrender the computer she used for blogging and for failing to appear in court to explain why she disobeyed the orders of Judge Tony Lindsay, the Chronicle reported.
Arthur alleges Stephens, and fellow blogger Lyndall Harrington of Rose Speaks, defamed her around the time of custody hearings for Smith's infant daughter, Dannielynn.
Stephens and Harrington have denied any wrongdoing.
