LONOG BRANCH, N.J., Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Police in Long Branch, N.J., say an officer who stopped Bob Dylan in response to a suspicious person call did not recognize him.

Sgt. Michael Ahart of the Long Branch Police Department said while Officer Kristie Buble, 24, recognized the famous performer's name after he identified himself during the July 23 stop, she remained suspicious of the "Blowin' in the Wind" singer's appearance, CNN said Friday.

"She recognized the name, she just really didn't believe it was Bob Dylan," Ahart said. "He was soaking wet because it was raining and he was wearing a hood."

Ahart said when the 68-year-old singer, who is on tour with fellow singers Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp, was unable to provide Buble and her partner with identification, the officers escorted Dylan to the site where his tour buses were parked.

"Dylan was really cool about the whole incident," Ahart told CNN, adding Dylan had been seen looking into the window of an area home up for sale prior to the incident.
