Heder to star in Buddy Holly sci-fi comedy

HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Jon Heder is tapped to star in "Buddy Holly Is Alive and Well on Ganymede," an adaptation of a comic science fiction novel, Variety reported.

Robert Rugan wrote the script based on Bradley Denton's novel and will direct the flick, the trade magazine reported Thursday.

Heder's camp said the star of "Napoleon Dynamite" and "Blades of Glory" will work on the film when he has time off from the untitled situation comedy in which he stars and which is set to air on Comedy Central.
