Hungarian music festival opens

BUDAPEST, Hungary, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Hundreds of artists will perform on dozens of stages at a five-day music festival that opened Wednesday in downtown Budapest, Hungarian organizers said.

More than 200 performers from foreign countries and Hungary are to sing and play on 55 stages at the Sziget pop, rock and jazz music festival on Obudai Island in the Danube River, which flows through the center of Budapest, the Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

The list of performers include Lily Allen, Snow Patrol, Ting Tings, Fatboy Slim, Primal Scream, The Prodigy, Manic Street Preachers, Placebo, Danko Jones, The Offspring and Faith No More.
