STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Wedding bells will ring for Sweden's Princess Madeline, who will marry long-time boyfriend Jonas Bergstrom, the court announced Tuesday.

The Royal Court said Sweden's King Karl XVI has given his consent and "in accordance with the Constitution received the approval of the government, Swedish news agency TT reported.

"They have known each other a long time now and as Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling have become engaged it is nice for them to also do so. Love is infectious," court spokeswoman Nina Eldh said.

A wedding date hasn't been set, Eldh said, adding it was unlikely to be scheduled before Crown Princess Victoria's wedding or next year's general election.
