Brooks and Dunn call it quits in 2010

NASHVILLE, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. country music duo Brooks and Dunn, a dominant force since they burst onto the scene in 1991, announced Tuesday they were done as a duo.

"After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time to call it a day," Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn said in a message posted on their Web site.

Brooks and Dunn said an album of their No. 1 hits "and then some" is scheduled for release in September, and then "we will ... bid you farewell one last time in 2010, with The Last Rodeo Tour."

Since their monster debut CD, "Brand New Man," with four straight No. 1 singles, Brooks and Dunn have released more than a dozen CDs, had 20 No. 1 hits and won the Country Music Association's Vocal Duo of the Year Award every year but once from 1992 until 2006.

"This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed," the duo said. "We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time."
