LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Actor Frank Langella is in talks to join "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps," a sequel to the morality tale of New York's financial district, the studio said.

Shia LaBeouf is tapped to star with Michael Douglas, who'll reprise his Gordon Gekko role in the sequel, directed by Oliver Stone, who helmed the 1987 original, Variety reported Monday. Josh Brolin reportedly is considering a part in the drama as well.

Langella is in talks to play Lewis Zabel, an old-time broker who mentors LaBeouf's character, a young Wall Street broker in the 20th Century Fox film. What happens to the mentor's fate plays a major part in the film's plot, written by Allen Loeb, Variety reported.

It's Langella's first role since his Oscar-nominated portrayal of Richard Nixon in "Frost/Nixon" in 2008.
