LONDON, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- British actor Mark Lester, best known for starring in the musical "Oliver!," says he may be the biological father of singer Michael Jackson's daughter Paris.

The Sunday Telegraph reported Lester, 51, claims he once donated sperm to the late U.S. pop star and is now willing to undergo a paternity test to determine if he is the biological father of 11-year-old Paris.

"It's a been a secret for so long," the former child star said. "I gave Michael my sperm so that he could have kids -- and I believe Paris is my daughter."

Jackson, who died June 25 at age 50, had three children: Paris, 12-year-old Prince and 7-year-old Prince Michael II.

Lester, who claims to have donated sperm to Jackson in 1996, said he decided to question the parentage of Paris, his goddaughter, amid concerns for the welfare of her and her brothers following their father's death.

"There's a contact issue," Lester said. "I dearly want to remain in contact with those kids and I feel now this is the only way that I can ensure that."

The Jackson family has not commented on Lester's claims.
