Writers named for 'Mission: Impossible IV'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. studio Paramount Pictures and producers Tom Cruise and J.J. Abrams have announced the writing team for "Mission: Impossible IV."

Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec were named to write the screenplay, joining the list of writers who moved from Abrams' television series to write features he directs and produces, Variety reported Friday.

Applebaum and Nemec spent four seasons with Abrams as co-executive producers of "Alias." Variety said the "Mission: Impossible IV" script is based on a story Abrams wrote with them.

The picture is scheduled for release in 2011.
