LAS VEGAS, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- An unidentified source says Kevin Federline, the rapper best known as Britney Spears' ex-husband, has been filming in Las Vegas for a new reality TV series.

The source said the 31-year-old former backup dancer, was recently in the gambling mecca working on the show's pilot that has yet to be picked up by a network, People.com reported Friday.

The series would follow Federline and his dealings with his four children, two with Spears and two with former girlfriend Shar Jackson.

"He has been through a lot over the years, but handled himself very well. He's learned how to balance being a super single dad and the chaotic life of business, fame and fortune," the source said of Federline. "He strives to be a good father."

People magazine said a film crew followed Federline to a Las Vegas nightclub and a hotel beach pool. A representative for the rapper offered no comment on the reality show report.
