LOS ANGELES, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Larry David says the reunion of "Seinfeld" stars on his U.S. TV series will be based on a fake reunion special.

David, who also is an executive producer on the HBO comedy series, said at a Television Critics Association summer press tour Thursday the appearance of all four major "Seinfeld" stars will be spread across multiple "Curb" episodes, E! Online reported.

"The reunion is scattered through the season, and I think the cast will be on five shows. All four won't be on all five shows. Jerry is on five shows; the others will be on at least four," he said of Seinfeld and fellow "Seinfeld" stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards and Jason Alexander. "The season finale will be about the reunion show."

Dates for the "Curb" episodes were not reported.

David said he finally agreed to help reunite the stars of the former NBC sitcom after years of requests.

"The context is that for years I've been asked about a 'Seinfeld' reunion," David said. "I would always say, 'No. There's not going to be a reunion show. We would never do that. It's a lame idea.'"
