NEW YORK, July 27 (UPI) -- MTV says it plans to air for the first time on U.S. television a documentary about socialite and actress Paris Hilton called "Paris, Not France."
An official selection of the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival, the movie is set to run on MTV Tuesday evening.
Shot in 2006 in London, New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, the documentary follows the heiress around the world "from red carpets to business meetings to photo shoots, providing a back-stage pass into what it really takes to maintain the life, business and brand of Paris Hilton," the network said in a news release.
"Despite all the criticism and misunderstanding of Paris, there is no doubt that she is one of the biggest and most recognizable icons of our generation," Adria Petty, the documentary's director and producer, said in a statement.
