NEW YORK, July 26 (UPI) -- Singer Chris Brown has checked into the same New York hotel as his singer girlfriend Rihanna despite a restraining order against him, hotel sources say.

The New York Post said Sunday while a Los Angeles restraining order bars Brown from having contact with Rihanna, unidentified hotel sources said both stars checked into the Trump International Hotel & Tower on the same day.

The sources said the two singers are staying in separate rooms since Friday's check-in and have been transported to and from the site in separate chauffeured vehicles.

Brown, 20, has already pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault in relation to a Feb. 8 domestic altercation with Rihanna, 21, in Los Angeles.

The presiding judge in Brown's assault case ordered the "Exclusive" singer to remain at least 50 yards away from Rihanna at all times unless they both attend a music industry event. At such events, the two singers must remain 10 yards apart.

The Post said Brown is expected to receive a plea deal agreement of 1,400 hours of community service and required domestic-violence counseling at his Aug. 5 sentencing.
