NEW YORK, July 23 (UPI) -- The New York apartment building where Australian actor Heath Ledger died last year has been sold for $15 million at a foreclosure auction.

Ledger, the Oscar-winning star of "The Dark Knight" and "Brokeback Mountain," died at home after taking a fatal combination of prescription drugs.

The actor had been renting the Manhattan apartment for several months after breaking up with his actress girlfriend, Michelle Williams, the mother of his young daughter.

The New York Post said Donald Burns, whose Palm Beach Mortgage Management is the main lender to

the building at 421 Broome Street in Soho, made the winning bid at the foreclosure auction through his attorney.
