LOS ANGELES, July 22 (UPI) -- Bruce Greenwood, Noel Fisher and Linda Emond have begun work on "A Dog Named Christmas," a TV movie filming in Saskatchewan, Canada, CBS said.

The holiday movie is about a developmentally challenged young man, with a penchant for caring for animals in need, who sets out to convince his family -- and their whole rural community -- to participate in a local shelter's inaugural "Adopt a Dog for Christmas Program."

Fisher plays the main character, while Greenwood and Emond portray his parents.

The TV movie is expected to air on CBS as a Hallmark Hall of Fame production. No run date has been announced yet.
