NEW YORK, July 15 (UPI) -- The American company Quirk Books has announced plans to release the novel "Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters" this September.

The horror book is inspired by Jane Austen's literary classic "Sense and Sensibility" and comes on the heels of Quirk's surprise hit Austen adaptation "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," which has more than 600,000 copies in print, Publishers Weekly said on its Web site.

"Sea Monsters" reportedly features a 60-40 ratio of Austen material to new prose and is due for release Sept. 15.

"It may be that the appeal (of 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies') had solely to do with the zombies, but if people are intrigued with the idea of desecrating or mashing up classics, then there's a lot we can do," Publishers Weekly quoted Quirk editor Jason Rekulak as saying.
