LOS ANGELES, July 14 (UPI) -- Debbie Rowe's lawyer says the mother of two of Michael Jackson's kids hasn't reached a financial deal to relinquish her parental rights as has been reported.

Rowe gave birth to Jackson's 11-year-old daughter Paris and 12-year-old son Prince Michael during a brief marriage to the late pop icon, which ended in divorce in 1999. The mother of Jackson's youngest child, 7-year-old Prince Michael II, has not been identified in the media.

The singer's mother Katherine has temporary custody of his two older children in keeping with the wishes he expressed in his will.

Rowe, who reportedly has not had a maternal relationship with her kids, said after Jackson's death she might attempt to gain custody of them.

The New York Post Tuesday reported she struck a $4 million deal with the Jackson family to give up her rights to the children and not challenge Katherine for custody.

However, Eric George, Rowe's attorney, told CNN no such pact has been made. George said he has also ordered the newspaper to retract the story, which "can only have been concocted with reckless disregard for the truth."

"Ms. Rowe has not accepted -- and will not accept -- any additional financial consideration beyond the spousal support she and Michael Jackson personally agreed to several years ago," CNN quoted George as saying.

A court hearing in the matter is scheduled for next Monday, the news agency said on its Web site.
