PROVIDENCE, R.I., July 14 (UPI) -- Richard Hatch, who is serving the final months of his sentence for tax evasion under house arrest, won't be allowed to go to Samoa for a "Survivor" reunion.

The Providence (R.I.) Journal said U.S. Judge William E. Smith has denied the "Survivor" winner's request to travel abroad so he can appear on the 10th anniversary edition of the TV competition show.

Hatch won $1 million on the first season of "Survivor," but was convicted in 2006 of tax evasion and obstructing justice, and sentenced to 51 months in prison and three years of supervised release, the Journal noted.
