With Memphis standing in for Texas for filming purposes, production is get started Aug. 4 with a budget of $250,000.

"We've been scouring the countryside, looking for scary houses," Harris said of pre-production efforts in Memphis.

Notable Memphians such as musician Jimmy Crosthwait will also serve in series' cast of seven lead actors, The Commercial Appeal said.
