LOS ANGELES, July 11 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Superior Court officials say a custody hearing to determine the next guardian of the late singer Michael Jackson's three kids has been rescheduled.

A statement released by the court said Monday's hearing was rescheduled to July 20 in response to a request from Jackson's mother, Katherine, and Debbie Rowe, the mother of two of Jackson's children, People.com reported Friday.

The court ordered Jackson's mother remain the temporary guardian of his children, Prince Michael I, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II, 7, until the hearing.

An unidentified court representative said Rowe, who is the biological mother of Paris and Prince Michael I, has not sought temporary guardianship of her children to date.

"The truth is that Debbie has not reached a final decision concerning the pending custody proceedings," her attorney, Eric George, said last week about the guardianship situation in the wake of Jackson's June 25 death.

People.com said the late pop star named his mother as his children's guardian in his will.
