LOS ANGELES, July 6 (UPI) -- Michael Jackson's family is working with Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries on plans for the King of Pop's remains, officials said.

Jim McDonnell, assistant chief of staff of the Los Angeles Police Department, said officials with Forest Lawn, a non-profit organization that has buried many celebrities in its Los Angeles and Glendale, Calif., memorial parks, are working with the Jackson family on their plans for the body, CNN reported Monday.

McDonnell said discussions of Jackson's burial would be part of "a package" of events scheduled for Tuesday.

However, the Jackson family has yet to make an official announcement regarding the burial of the singer, who died June 25.
