LONDON, July 5 (UPI) -- U.S. pop star Madonna asked fans at her London concert to recognize the accomplishments of the late singer Michael Jackson.

E! Online said Madonna took time Saturday to have a Jackson impersonator join her on stage and dance to the late singer's Wanna Be Starting Something."

"Let's give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known," Madonna told those in attendance following the on-stage tribute to Jackson, who died June 25 at the age of 50.

Madonna also honored her fellow pop star by wearing a jeweled glove on her right hand, an affectation for which Jackson was known. Madonna's dancers also donned the gloves in recognition of Jackson.

E! Online said the rock band U2 played homage to Jackson during a concert in Barcelona with lead singer Bono injecting some of Jackson's song lyrics into the band's performance of "Angel of Harlem."
