NEW YORK, July 3 (UPI) -- The late U.S. pop star Michael Jackson had been working on two new musical albums prior to his death, his collaborators said in an exclusive report.

Songwriter Claude Kelly and singer Akon said Jackson remained driven to create new works for his loyal fans up until his death last Thursday, Billboard magazine reports online.

"He said, 'My fans are still there. They still love me. They're alive,'" Akon said of his time working with Jackson on a new pop album.

"He was the King of Pop, the biggest to ever do it, and the one thing you never lose -- whether known by the whole world or just 10 people -- is your love for music," said Kelly, who was also contributing to the album.

Composer David Michael Frank confirmed to Billboard that the "Thriller" star had also been working on an instrumental album of classical music,

"He had two demos of two pieces he'd written, but they weren't complete," Frank said. "For one of them, he had a whole section of it done in his head. He had not recorded it."
