BURBANK, Calif., July 3 (UPI) -- The newest ABC reality competition "The Fast and the Funniest" will reportedly feature comedians racing against each other across the United States.

Variety reported Wednesday the new TV series from Page Hurwitz and Javier Winnik of "Last Comic Standing" will have a competition format similar to the wacky race shown in the movie "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World."

The new series will follow stand-up comedians as they race across the country, completing tasks and sharing their comedic ways in pursuit of a cash prize.

"Fast," which counts Hurwitz and Winnik as executive producers, will end when the first three comedians to arrive in the race's destination city compete in a final comedic battle.

The Reporter said in addition to "Last Comic," Hurwitz and Winnik worked together on "The Comedy Roadshow." No date was given for a possible debut of "Fast."
