Report: Jackson's will names mom, kids
LOS ANGELES, June 30 (UPI) -- A 2002 will written by Michael Jackson that divides his estate between between his mother and three children could be introduced this week, sources say.
Citing several unnamed people close to the late pop superstar, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday the will is believed to be his last and its introduction into Los Angeles Superior Court would be the result of a tense period of debate among Jackson's relatives and advisers over which of several wills is valid.
The newspaper said Jackson's father Joseph Jackson isn't believed to be included in the most recent will, which Jackson family attorney L. Londell McMillan says he hasn't seen. McMillan told the Journal he had spent much of Monday trying to ensure that Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson's mother, would receive custody of the singer's three children.
The Journal's sources said it wasn't clear what custody arrangements are called for by the 2002 will, but they indicated it names lawyer John Branca and veteran music executive John McClain as executors of his estate.
The Journal said Michael Jackson died with around $500 million in debt, but unnamed sources say his assets may be worth as much as $700 million.
Report: Dermatologist is Jacko kids' dad
LOS ANGELES, June 30 (UPI) -- The biological father of two of Michael Jackson's children is not the late pop star but his dermatologist, the U.S. magazine Us Weekly reported Tuesday.
Citing unnamed "multiple sources," the magazine said dermatologist Arnold Klein is the real father of Prince Michael and Paris Jackson, who were given birth by Klein's former assistant, Debbie Rowe.
"He is the dad," a Jackson insider told Us Weekly. "He and Debbie signed an agreement saying they would never reveal the truth."
The magazine said neither Rowe nor Jackson ever told the truth about their childrens' true parentage. But Rowe did admit in 2002 that she carried the superstar's children as a personal favor although she would not confirm reports that their marriage was never consummated.
"I said, 'Let me do this. You need to be a dad. You have been so good to me,'" Us Weekly quoted Rowe as saying.
Choreographer Pina Bausch dies at 68
BERLIN, June 30 (UPI) -- German choreographer Pina Bausch, described as Europe's most influential force in modern dance, has died at age 68, her company said Tuesday.
The director of the Wuppertal Tanztheater, the dance company founded by Bausch in 1973, made the announcement, The Times of London reported. Earlier reports had indicated Bausch was suffering from cancer.
The Times said Bausch was one of the world's most provocative and beloved choreographers, who employed bravery and imagination in her work, never settling for easy options while conducting an uncompromising search for truth in art.
Critics said she tapped a unique style of theatrical psychological investigations, often ignoring logical storytelling and de-emphasizing sophisticated movements in favor of expressing painful emotions such as melancholy, anguish and alienation, The Times reported.
Her work "Arien" covered the stage with water, while in "Nelken" the stage was filled with carnations, the newspaper said.
Parker, Broderick release photo of twins
NEW YORK, June 30 (UPI) -- Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have released the first public photo of their new twin daughters, The New York Post reported Tuesday.
The newspaper said the photo of the twins -- Marion and Tabitha -- was snapped in Manhattan one week after a surrogate mother gave birth to the girls in Ohio. The picture reportedly shows the couple's 6-year-old son, James Wilkie, tenderly peering over his mother's shoulder as Marion sleeps.
An unnamed representative for Parker and Broderick told the Post, "The entire family is over the moon" at the girls' birth.
Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, chose 26-year-old divorced mother Michelle Ross of Martins Ferry, Ohio, as their surrogate after the couple were unable to conceive naturally. The newspaper said the publicity frenzy surrounding the births resulted in Ross' phone and computer being hacked into by snoopers.
