NEW YORK, June 26 (UPI) -- U.S. singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is discontinuing production of Sweetface, the line of high-end urban streetwear she introduced in 2003.

The New York Daily News said although the line will be halted after the current spring 2009 collection, the company plans to some day bring back a reformatted version of Sweetface "with new messaging points and an entirely new fashion point of view."

Lopez's JLO clothing brand, which she established in 2001, closed in 2007 in the United States, but is still sold in 40 other countries, the Daily News noted.

Lauren Conrad's signature clothing line and Mandy Moore's brand of frocks have also recently gone out of business reportedly due to the economy.
