Eddie Cibrian joins 'CSI: Miami' cast

LOS ANGELES, June 25 (UPI) -- Actor Eddie Cibrian has joined the cast of "CSI: Miami" for the television drama's eighth season, CBS said Thursday.

Known for his roles on TV's "Third Watch," "Tilt," "Invasion," "Vanished," "The Young and the Restless," "Ugly Betty," "The Starter Wife" and "Samantha Who?" Cibrian is set to be a series regular on "CSI: Miami" when the show starts its new season Sept. 21.

CBS said he will portray a police officer from the Hollywood, Calif., Division who joins Horatio's team of crime scene investigators in Miami.
