WORLD POKER TOUR INVITATIONAL

LOS ANGELES, June 24 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Lou Diamond Phillips was declared the winner of "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" on Wednesday night's finale.

Phillips beat out fellow finalists Torrie Wilson and John Salley for the Costa Rican-jungle-set show's title of King of the Jungle and earned a check for his favorite charity, the Art Has Heart Foundation, E! News said.

"This experience is head and shoulders and far to the left of anything I've ever done," said Phillips. "No movie set ever compared to this -- this is the real deal and it's been an amazing trip."

The 47-year-old actor is best known for his work in the movies "La Bamba," "Stand and Deliver," "Dakota" and "Young Guns." He has been seen recently on the TV shows "Stargate: Universe," "Numb3rs" and "The Beast."
