NEW YORK, June 23 (UPI) -- Rita Wilson's representatives said the U.S. actress has dropped her lawsuit against Melissa Pearl pertaining to a Beatles poster.

"Contention over a rare vintage 1962 Beatles poster has been amicably resolved," the law firm of Lavely & Singer said in a release Monday.

"Melissa Pearl has sold the poster to Rita Wilson, who sought the piece for her husband Tom Hanks. The poster had been the subject of a lawsuit filed by Wilson against Pearl, but Wilson's complaint and all allegations against Pearl have been completely withdrawn," the statement said. "The action stemmed from certain misunderstandings regarding the conditions of sale of the poster. Although Pearl provided a copy of the Sotheby's London record of sale for the poster and other authentication at the time of the initial deal, the misunderstandings have been resolved based on additional authentication documents for the poster. Both Wilson and Hanks have been very happy with the artwork Pearl has found for them over the years."

Wilson's film credits include "Volunteers," "The Bonfire of the Vanities," "Sleepless in Seattle," "Runaway Bride" and "The Story of Us."
