Kris Allen and Adam Lambert Perform on the NBC Today Show in New York

NEW YORK, June 23 (UPI) -- "Want," the new single by "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert, went on sale Tuesday on iTunes, Hi Fi Recordings said.

The song is from a full album called "On with the Show," which is to be released by Hi Fi Recordings/Wilshire Records this summer.

Lambert co-wrote most of the songs on the CD.

"'On with the Show' is drenched in Lambert's signature sound and style," the record label said in a news release Tuesday. "It is part of the more than two albums' worth of material he recorded with production and publishing company Wilshire Records over the course of their three-year relationship. Before any other major entity, producer Malcolm Welsford and his independent label, Wilshire, recognized Lambert's musical gift and nurtured and supported his development."
