Chris Brown arraigned on felony assault in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, June 17 (UPI) -- The California Supreme Court has denied a request made by Chris Brown's lawyer to postpone a hearing in the singer's assault case, officials say.

"Access Hollywood" said Brown's June 22 court date is to take place as scheduled.

Brown, 20, has pleaded innocent to charges claiming he beat up and threatened his girlfriend, 21-year-old singer Rihanna, during a heated argument last February.

Rihanna's lawyer recently said she was subpoenaed to testify at the hearing and plans to cooperate.
