Alexa Vega to release new single

BURBANK, Calif., June 16 (UPI) -- Singer/actress Alexa Vega is set to release her new single "Lost in Your Own Life," Hollywood Records said Tuesday.

Vega, 20, was a star of the "Spy Kids" movies and will soon be seen in the upcoming ABC Family series "Ruby & the Rockits."

Her singing credits include the "Spy Kids" soundtracks, as well as the indie-slasher movie "REPO! The Genetic Opera." Vega also took a turn on Broadway playing Penny Pingleton in the stage musical "Hairspray" in 2007.

Her new song is expected to be released on iTunes and other digital retailers June 30, her record label said. The single is also slated to premiere during the first episode of "Ruby & the Rockits" next month.
