SPIDER-MAN 3 PREMIERE IN PARIS

LOS ANGELES, June 13 (UPI) -- U.S. director Sam Raimi, known for helming the "Spider-Man" film franchise, said he was honored to receive the 2009 Visionary Award at the Key Art Awards.

The honorary award is given to a filmmaker who inspires movie marketers, the Hollywood Reporter said Saturday.

"I'd like to thank all my creative peers who I learn so much from in the marketing of these movies," Raimi said at Friday's award show at the Geffen Contemporary. "I'll try to live up to this great honor."

"The Dark Knight" also won big at Friday's event, as the Batman film received eight awards including best theatrical poster and theatrical TV spot.

Top home entertainment and new release packaging awards went to the animated film "Wall-E," while the film's release group, Disney, earned 10 Key Art awards.

The Reporter said Warner Bros., the studio behind "Knight," and fellow studio, Paramount, each earned 10 awards of their own Friday night.
