RULEVILLE, Miss., June 13 (UPI) -- Film actor Morgan Freeman says he was not entirely responsible for a 2008 rollover crash near his home in Mississippi.

E! Online said Friday that documents filed in Mississippi on behalf of the "Wanted" actor denied most of the allegations made against Freeman in a lawsuit filed by passenger Demaris Meyer.

Meyer alleges in her suit that Freeman drank several drinks before driving her 1997 Nissan Maxima back to his estate last August. She alleges the actor lost control of her car, causing the rollover crash.

Specific details of Meyer's suit were not reported, but her February complaint said she had planned on staying at one of the actor's smaller homes at the estate the night of the crash.

E! Online said an attorney for Freeman, 71, said they will attempt to prove that Meyer, 48, was also partially responsible for the crash.
