Della Reese producing Calif. concert

LOS ANGELES, June 10 (UPI) -- Singer and actress Della Reese has signed on to produce with Michael Stone a star-studded concert event at California's Wilshire Theatre Beverly Hills.

Recording artists Jon B, Sisters With Voices and Noel are to perform at the gig June 20, while comedian Tommy Davidson is to serve as host, organizers said.

Confirmed to attend are Louis Gossett Jr., Loretta Devine, Florence LaRue, Ken Davitian, Roger E. Mosley, Diane Ladd, Ernest Thomas, Meshach Taylor, David Kershenbaum, Ernie Hudson, Yo-Yo, Down A.K.A. Kilo, Traci Bingham, Kerry Gordy, Kiki Shepard, Kathleen Bradley, Heather Chadwell, Rodney B. Perry, Fred Williamson and Norwood Young.

"Della Reese knows the meaning of 'giving back' through charities, through the arts and lending her name to propel new talent into the Hollywood spotlight. To these newcomers she is often lovingly referred to as 'Mama' Della," Michael Stone Events said in a release.
