NEW YORK, June 8 (UPI) -- Bret Michaels' publicist confirmed the rocker and reality TV star was hurt when he ran into scenery while performing at the Tony Awards show in New York.

The incident occurred as Michaels sang with his band Poison, along with the cast of Broadway's "Rock of Ages," at Sunday night's prize presentation at Radio City Music Hall, People.com said.

The musician reportedly missed his mark, hit a piece of scenery and fell to the ground.

His representative told Usmagazine.com Monday that Michaels suffered a nose fracture and a cut lip.

Michaels' publicist told People.com Sunday the rock star was "getting X-rays," but was "a trooper" and still had hoped to drop by some Tonys after-parties. The rocker's spokeswoman also emphasized Sunday that Michaels "had a blast performing."

The 63rd annual Tony Awards honored the best on Broadway during the 2008-09 season.
