LOS ANGELES, June 8 (UPI) -- Spanish Oscar winner Javier Bardem is in talks to co-star with Julia Roberts in Ryan Murphy's film adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir "Eat, Pray, Love."
Bardem's movie credits include "No Country for Old Men," "Love in the Time of Cholera" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."
Roberts' recent roles were in the movies "Duplicity" and "Charlie Wilson's War."
Murphy is the creator of TV's "Nip/Tuck" and the director of the film "Running with Scissors."
Variety.com reported Roberts has been cast as Gilbert in "Eat," while Bardem would play Felipe, the man the author meets and falls in love with as she is wrapping up a journey of self-discovery.
Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner are producing the picture through the Plan B production company, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
