NEW YORK, June 5 (UPI) -- The U.S. Spanish-language network V-me said it plans to air a documentary featuring Ricky Martin and Maria Hinojosa addressing the issue of human trafficking.
The 30-minute film, "Vivir en Libertad: Lucha Contra la Trata de Personas," is slated for broadcast July 10.
The documentary is a co-production between the Inter-American Development Bank and the Ricky Martin Foundation. It is narrated by Hinojosa, V-me's award-winning journalist and host of "La Plaza."
In a special introduction, pop star Martin discusses the complexities of this modern form of slavery. Covering the multi-layered issues of prevention, protection and prosecution of human trafficking, the documentary was made in response to the widely successful Call and Live, the first regional campaign against human trafficking in the Americas, V-me said in a news release.
