Ricci and Benjamin call off wedding plans

LOS ANGELES, June 3 (UPI) -- U.S. film actress Christina Ricci and her comedian fiance Owen Benjamin have broken up, but remain friends, sources told People magazine.

The couple reportedly met last year and announced their engagement in March.

"Owen had a birthday party this past Sunday, and everything seemed fine. Some time after, they got into a fight and decided to re-evaluate things. (Then) the engagement was off," one insider said.

Another source told the magazine Ricci and Benjamin split up before last week.

"They really are still close," the source added. "They talk almost every day. It was a very mature decision and they both felt good about it. They're definitely still friends."
