50 Cent testifies in house lawsuit

HARTFORD , Conn., June 3 (UPI) -- Hip-hop artist 50 Cent has testified in Connecticut's Hartford Superior Court against an engineering firm he is suing.

The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, said Tuesday he hired BVH Integrated Services to survey a Farmington mansion he bought in 2003 and to tell him what it would cost to "bring it up to speed," The Hartford Courant reported.

The company, however, estimated it would cost $500,000 to repair the dwelling, the Courant said Jackson's lawsuit called that quote grossly inaccurate.

"I would not have purchased the property with a $1 million worth of work to do. To be honest, I would not have purchased a house with $700,000 worth of damages. I would have felt I was living in a construction site," Jackson said.
