LOS ANGELES, May 29 (UPI) -- CBS has announced plans to air an 11th edition of its U.S. reality competition series "Big Brother" this summer.

The show follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones recording their every move, 24 hours a day.

One by one, the houseguests will vote each other out of the house.

At the end of three months, the last remaining houseguest will receive the grand prize of $500,000.

The new season is set to debut July 9.

Following the premiere, "Big Brother" will be broadcast three nights weekly -- Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Thursday episode will be the live eviction show, with Julie Chen serving as host, CBS said.
