Whoopi Goldberg and Sesame Street launch "Panwapa" in New York

NEW YORK, May 28 (UPI) -- Actress and TV personality Whoopi Goldberg narrates "Journey to the Stars," a new space show opening July 4 at New York's Hayden Planetarium.

Goldeberg is a panelist on the TV chat show "The View." She also won an Oscar for her performance in the supernatural romance "Ghost."

The American Museum of Natural History said the pre-recorded planetarium show she narrates "launches visitors through time and space to experience the life and death of the stars in our night sky."

"Travel 13 billion years into the past, when the first stars were born, and witness brilliant supernova explosions that formed new kinds of atoms and sent them coursing through the universe, even into our own bodies and the air we breathe," the museum said in a release. "Visit the heart of our fiery Sun, and glimpse its eventual demise after it transforms into an enormous red giant some 5 billion years in the future. Explore our galactic neighborhood, unveil new celestial mysteries, and discover the fascinating, unfolding story that connects us all to the stars."
