Will Smith nervous about daughter dating
NEWARK, N.J., May 24 (UPI) -- Police in Morris Plains, N.J., say two people were hospitalized after suffering injuries during the annual Morris Plains Memorial Day Parade.
Police said a helicopter flyover during Saturday's festivities caused a tree branch to break free and strike a 5-year-old girl, who was hospitalized with a cut to her head, The (Newark) New Jersey Star-Ledger reported Sunday.
A 38-year-old woman also suffered scratches and a gash to her cheek as a result of another falling branch, but was not hospitalized.
Police said Bill Barbato, 62, was hospitalized after he became pinned under the horse-drawn carriage he was driving. The incident occurred when the carriage got stuck and fell over, spooking the two 1,800-pound Clydesdales pulling the transport.
Morris Plains police officer Tom Keane told the Star-Ledger that Barbato, who was also kicked repeatedly by the frightened horses during Saturday's incident, was hospitalized with injuries to his ear, head, knee and wrist.
