LOS ANGELES, May 20 (UPI) -- Focus Features says it has cast Hollywood actor George Clooney in director Anton Corbijn's film adaptation of the novel "A Very Private Gentleman."

Variety.com reported Rowan Joffe is writing a screenplay based on Martin Booth's book about an assassin preparing for his last job.

Corbijn is to start shooting the movie in Italy this fall, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

Clooney and his Smokehouse production company partner Grant Heslov reportedly will team up with Anne Carrey as producers.
