NEW YORK, May 19 (UPI) -- Farrah Fawcett's friend Alana Stewart says the U.S. actress liked "Farrah's Story," a documentary chronicling her battle with anal cancer.

Stewart discussed on Monday's edition of the "Today" show, Fawcett's reaction to the two-hour special about her, which Stewart helped shoot and which was broadcast last week on NBC.

"She cried a few times," said Stewart, who watched the program with Fawcett and the actress' longtime companion Ryan O'Neal. "It was very emotional for her. ... and I think it's because it's been a very, very long journey, you know? And going back through it was probably a bit painful. But when it was over I said, 'OK, so did you like it?' And she said, 'I liked it very, very, very, very, very much.'"

"That was a relief," O'Neal told "Today" by phone.

Asked how Fawcett is doing now, O'Neal replied, "Very well."

"When we began watching it on Friday night she had a very low pulse, but by the end of the program she had a nice, normal medical -- we had a nurse there checking her pulse. It kept going up and up and

up. It was wonderful," he said. "We have to now show her one of her films every night."

Stewart also said she is "shocked and disappointed" a former producer would claim in a lawsuit he had been cut out of the process of making the film and the final product isn't what Fawcett would have wanted.

"He's got his work cut out for him because we haven't stopped filming and we're going to make a second installment of her life eventually," O'Neal said. "He better get his lawyers up and ready."
